Sculpture Without Sight

Tap Into Your Creativity

“Art makes better humans, art is necessary in understanding the world and art makes people happy”, – said a contemporary American artist, Nathan Sawaya. These words truly depict the process of creating and observing pieces of art. Nowadays people are trying to dive deeper into exhibitions, theatrical performances and learn more about the inner message that is hard to reveal, although it is incredibly rewarding. During such explorations, people develop creativity and knowledge, they find new sources of inspiration and develop themselves. Let’s take a look at upcoming events in New York and worldwide that will help you tap into your creativity.

New York:

Blue Man Group

Blue Man Group will rock your mind and unleash your spirit. As three bald blue men explore our world, together you’ll discover music, laughter, and surprises at every turn. By the end of this spectacular journey, you’ll be saying “I don’t even know what just happened…” Their performances are euphoric celebrations of human connection through art, music, comedy, and non-verbal communication. You can take part in it! Don’t hesitate!

Chasing Andy Warhol

Chasing Andy Warhol is an immersive and theatrical walking tour production that employs Bated Breath’s unique multimedia approach as scenes inspired from Warhol’s enigmatic life unfold on the streets, behind windows of area businesses, and inside secret locations along the route. Despite Warhol’s fame, he was also an obscure, mystifying persona who preferred to remain elusive. The show will present a distinct blend of immersive theatre, dance, film, art, and puppetry to peek into the iconic artist which goes beyond the hype and into the deepest feelings of a profoundly complex person. His legacy continues to bombard our senses at every turn. Bated Breath Theatre Company stages their outdoor performances of Chasing Andy Warhol on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Sculpture Without Sight

Sculpture Without Sight is a meditative experience that reconnects you with the sense of touch and that let’s you explore your inner creativity. Our sense of touch allows us to receive information about our internal and external environments. It keeps us in the present moment, grounded, aware. This session is not about the finished sculpture, but the process of feeling your way through a mental image. No sculpture experience necessary. Just your willingness to express yourself through touch.

Arcadia Earth

Arcadia Earth creates large scale multi-sensory journeys through underwater worlds, fantasy lands, and inspirational art installations designed to reimagine the way we address the most pressing environmental issues of our time. Each exhibition is brought to life through immersive technology, animated by augmented reality, virtual reality, projection mapping, and interactive environments where visitors will learn how their small lifestyle changes will impact the future of our planet.

Created by Andrew Hoepfner in 2018 for Houseworld Immersive’s new permanent venue, BOTO (Bottom Of The Ocean) is an exploration of the value, meaning, and pleasure we find in ceremony. The intimate sequence of invented rituals combines the meditative and the surreal, creating an introspective journey to an inevitable destination.

International Art Digest:

Van Gogh Alive

Van Gogh Alive s opening in a huge marquee in Kensington Gardens (adjacent to Hyde Park), opposite the Royal Albert Hall (London).

The sensitive presentation does not dwell on the more sensationalist aspects of Vincent’s life, with only subtle allusions to the ear incident and the suicide. Instead, the emphasis is very much on his art, projected in amazing detail, enabling one to really see his vigorous brushwork. But of course, the “show” is no substitute for viewing the actual paintings, the way the artist intended—the “immersive experience” should be regarded as something different.

Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return is an innovative and imaginative ‘fun-house’ based in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. The unique art experience covers 20,000 square feet and was designed by the Meow Wolf collective. It is home to more than 70 rooms of immersive art, as well as secret passages and interactive light and musical objects that guests can play with. The storyline focuses on the Selig family, who disappeared after a forbidden experiment at their Victorian mansion.

Meow Wolf’s first project, the House of Eternal Return, features 70 rooms of interactive art, tied together by the mystery of the Selig family who disappeared from their Victorian manor. Choose your own path through the space, where walking, crawling and climbing are acceptable.
